The Sacrifice of Thanksgiving

"What shall I render to the Lord, for all His benefits toward me?... I will offer up to You a sacrifice of thanksgiving."  -Psa. 116:12,17a (Lev 7:12)

The sacrifice of thanksgiving was a variant of the peace offering, similar to the sacrifice of a vow. The difference between the two is, while the sacrifice of a vow could be eaten in more than one day, the sacrifice of thanksgiving had to be consumed on the day it was made. A vow stays in effect, but thanksgiving must be renewed daily. What will be your sacrifice of thanksgiving today?

This drawing is actually a little older drawing, I think a couple of years ago. I didn't really like it, so I never posted it, but it did make a good illustration for this passage, so here it is.
